Hi all,
My name is Nikki, I'm 36 and mom to twin girls who will shortly turn five. I work (almost) full time and run my own small business. I need to change my thinking about exercise and I want it all. I want to be a personal success, I want to be an attractive and healthy role model for my girls, I want to spend every free minute with them and want to enjoy wonderful food and wine. Which brings me here - how can I get it all?
I am new to MFP, old to being overweight, feeling frustrated and trying lots of different things for very little time to correct it. So now I am trying something different - being consistent and accountable. Since January 1, I have logged everything (no cheating, no lies) and have lost six pounds as a result. I think tracking will be my silver bullet, since I am more a lazy eater than anything else. If offered I cookie, I say sure. Now, I don't want the "ding" in my daily allotment, so I skip it, which hasn't been hard for me since I didn't seek it out in the first place. I've indulged where I want it and it matters, like a couple of squares of good chocolate or a glass of wine. I'm skipping where I don't care, like the same salad every day for lunch, since I don't need much variety.
I'm looking to connect with positive thinkers with determination to mutually encourage. If you are like me and would like friends to help you succeed, i would absolutely LOVE to be a partner in fighting fat with you. It doesn't matter how much we have to lose or why, the reason programs like WW are successful is because of three things: education, tracking and support. Two are built into MFP, are you the third?
