I've been back at running for a month after having neglected it for about six months. This morning I woke up and my ankles and top of feed are so stiff and sore. It was really difficult to run today. The difficulty wasn't in the breathing/tiredness etc, it was that my freakin' ankles hurt so much.
I realize there are a million possibilities, but what are some MAIN LINE things to look at. I'm wearing the same gear I started with a month ago, same shoes I ran with this summer, which were new then.

When running, do you heel strike or ball strike? I have been told that if you heel strike it can lead to more damage to various parts of your body. When I did run I switched to a ball strike and I was able to run faster and longer with no pain anywhere. I hope it feels better soon.
P.S. Maybe do a little more walking than running until your ankle feels better.0
