Low-Calorie Home Recipes

Hi Everybody,

Hope everyone is doing well on their weight loss goals! I was wondering if anyone could share some low-calorie recipes for me. Looking for anything really, breakfast, lunch, dinner, take a shot.

I am not a picky eater, always willing to try something new, add a twist on a classic, very interested to see what people are eating at home.

Feel free to add/message me as well :)

I always browse people on my friend's list diaries to see what they are eating. I am not a big recipe buff though. Good luck!!

i know this is going to sound weird.. but i eat this all the time.. not sure what to call it.
in a saucepan you add grilled chicken slices, or cooked shrimp, whatever you like.. then you add frozen okra slices, diced onions, diced peppers, and a can or two of tomatoes with green chilies in them... you then simmer it til its all hot and cooked, then add seasonings. i only add old bay seasoning. it sort of turns out like a gumbo i guess, but its really low in calories and fat... you can make it spicier or hotter to taste. its good, try it. sometimes i dont put in the protein, just eat the rest plain. hope this helps!
  • I made this last night and it was delicious and filling! http://www.annies-eats.com/2012/11/05/mexican-quinoa/

I love Tortilla Pizzas, you can buy low fat pizza sauce (very low cals), and use turkey bacon for the toping, skim milk cheese, pretty much anything and soooo satisfying, almost feels like your cheating on your diet :p

As well Oatmeal Pancakes - 1/4 cup quaker oats, small piece of banana, cinnamon and if you like a bit of sweetner. Mix or blend (I Prefer Blend) and then pour on a warmed frying pan. Top off with some low fat pancake syrup

French Toast made with Egg whites and whole wheat bread

Above are quick recipes - My all time favorite is Balsamic & HOney Baked Salmon
    4 salmon steaks
    6 tablespoons balsamic vinager
    2 tablespoons honey
    2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon dried basil

in small sauce pan add balsamic, honey, and garlic powder. heat on med for about 4 mins stiring until well blended.

Place salmon in square baking dish, pour balsamic honey mixture on top. top salmon with dried onion and basil. bake for 20 to 30 mins on 370 degrees. serve with brown rice and veggie of your choice

You might be best searching and posting on either the Recipes board or the Diet & Weight Loss board.
