Protein intake

I weigh 155 lbs, i' m thinking about trying this new breakdown of lean meats, lower carb, high protein diet. But I logged it just to see where I would be, it put me with 160 grams of protein, is this bad? or bad on a regular basis, or is it fine?
i'm trying to reduce BF% and am in the process of switching from focusing on cardio to lifting

If you are trying to lean out, many nutritionists recommend approximately 0.8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight you are. So, I think that you are good. I think the hardest thing when having a high protein intake is to keep the fats down, so as long as you aren't increasing your fats (especially the bad fats) to a relatively high level you should be good.0

but that recomendation would be about 125 grams of protein, that would be eating about a little more than 1 gram per pound of body weight0 -
That's why it's an approximate value. There's no hard and fast rules that apply to everyone. Are you going to constantly eat exactly 160 grams of protein every day for the rest of your life? Probably not.
My example is myself. I am 218 lbs and I average 240-320 grams of protein per day. I lift to maintain and gain lean muscle while trying to keep my body fat down, which has been working pretty well.0 -
My weight is currently at 153lbs, I aim for approx. 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight.. I end up eating between 120 and 160g every day, depending on which protein sources I've eaten that day. I stick to all lean protein, lots of chicken breasts, fish, egg whites, and the occasional bit of steak. I'm also having 1 - 2 protein shakes every day, I really like the Kazein whey isolate protein150 cals per serving and about 35 grams of protein.
It's working for me so far! My body fat/weight has been dramatically decreasing since I'm started focusing on my protein intake. Good luck! :-)0 -
I'm really glad you asked this.. I am curious too.. I've been trying to increase protein as of this week and i'm doing fairley well. But i have no idea where to set the bar at.0

That is a recommended MINIMUM. More is OK.0 -
I eat 1g / lb of LBM as a minimum to shoot for, and am doing just fine.
ETA that I am 142 and maintain. I average around120g in protein but my minimum goal is 1120
