I try to keep every meal around 300 calories. However, eat when you are hungry. I like to eat at night, so if I eat too much in the morning it messes me up.

It's what works for you! If you can consume that many calories in the morning and still meet your goal for the day… good deal! Some people prefer eating big breakfasts, some big lunches, some big dinners. Personally, I like to spread my calories out across the day… more of a "grazing" style in a way, I guess.

I believe its okay and ether way its a good idea to start your day with big/good calories. Especially if you work out in the morning.
  • For a goal of 1200 calories thats probably too much.

Certain meals don't have to have a certain number of calories. You don't even have to have set "meals." As long as you're hitting your calorie goal at the end of the day, that's what matters.
  • Thanks everybody for the replies,it's my first day so I'm finding it hard to look ahead ,I think a bit of meal planning might be in order !

I eat a lot for breakfast. Lunch is my bigger meal of the day, and dinner is small.

That's a great idea. Planning your meals ahead of time makes it a lot easier. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
