Tip in scale after cardio

Hi
Could someone comment on drop in weight after cardio exercize and the reasons for it ?
I sometimes experience a reduction upto 0.4 kg after doing cardio for 23 mins early in the morning !
Is this due to water loss during exercising ?

Probably is water weight if you sweat. Just make sure youre drinking plenty of water during and after to re-hydrate.
  • Yes that is water weight since we lose water in the form of sweat whenever we workout (it also happens when you lift weights too)

    Thanks for the response.
However is it correct to measure the weight at that point of time ie after exercizing ?

"Correct" in what sense? It's correct in that it reflects what you weigh at that moment in time. If you weigh later in the day after you've eaten your meals, drank water, etc., you'll most likely weigh several pounds heavier. That is correct also, in that it accurately reflects your weight at that moment.

If you're talking about "correct" in the form of consistency in tracking weight loss/gain over time, I prefer to weigh naked, first thing in the morning after using the bathroom, using the same scale in the same location. It eliminates as many variables as possible, but your weight will still fluctuate up and down from day to day.

You need to measure yourself under the same circumstances (if possible) every time. So weighting yourself when you wake up is usually a good idea. If you do it after your workout you might have ate different during the day, drank different amounts of water, push yourself more/less during the workout, and that might have some impact on the results, so doesn't seem like a good idea ;)
