going on holiday

hi im going to america in 6 weeks time. id like to lose a decent amount of weight by then. anyone got tips? i eat the 1200 (or as close to) each day and exercise daily too yet im still struggling to lose the weight.

    Open your diary. It's hard to advise without more info. You say you eat 1200. How much do you exercise, what do you do for exercise? How tall are you? What do you weigh currently, what weight are you aiming for?

    im 5' 5, 27 im 200lbs and aim to get to 140. i walk alot so tend to burn between 200-400 calories doing that and do roughly 30 mins of just dance 3. ive just been diagnosed with a heart condition so having to make exercise light. i was previously doing 30 day shred. i will open my diary.

    Ok thanks. Just doing some quick calculations, your BMR alone is 1650. That's a minimum you should eat to keep your body alive and functioning with no activity at all. That's a baseline. You shouldn't eat below your BMR. To maintain your weight you'd be looking at around 2334cals (this is called your TDEE or total daily energy expenditure) I worked it out based on your exercise you mentioned so your lightly active. You should ideally be eating a figure between your BMR and your TDEE. Most people take around 20% off their TDEE. This should give you a steady fat loss that's easy to maintain whilst eating well. It will help you maintain muscle rather than lose it whilst dieting, to avoid ending up skinny fat!

    Just looked at your diary. If you personally try and get in a bit more protein. Good for maintaining your muscle and keeping you full.

    You're going to America while trying to lose weight? Good luck! Welcome to the land of heavily subsidized fattening foods!

    Deep fried everything with sides of bacon and cheese. I once bought 20 burgers, 4 large fries and 2 drinks at one of their chains for less than $10!

    And don't get me started on the Golden Corral... Stay away from that heavenly place!

    haha yeah its butter fingers im more worried about haha. im visiting family so they will keep mr on track. ps love your v tracker. i too have a v mask...bloody great film.

    i will look into getting protein shakes or eating more turkey. and will aim to eat around 1600 csls. hopefully that will work. thanks
