fit bit , body bugg or Polar heart monitor

Anyone use one? Im looking for something that I can use with my fitness pal- and Id rather not pay a monthly fee so Im leaning more towards a Polar watch/heart monitor. Any feedback on any of these devices is appreciated thank you

I have a Polar FT4 and a Fitbit - I use the Fitbit for keeping track of steps and generally walking out and about and the HRM for cardio workouts

I have a BodyMedia Fit. While I don't mind paying the monthly fee because I like seeing all the data it gives me, if you don't want to do that you can buy a display device which shows, in real time, calories burned, steps taken, and minutes of vigorous and moderate exercise. You can also set it to show calories burned during a specific workout. It costs about $50.

I have a Polar FT4 that I love. It's simple and doesn't have all kinds of features I don't need. It's only good for working out though, which is where I've heard the FitBit and Body Media fall short. I'm planning on getting a FitBit when the new Flex comes out because I would like to be able to track calories burned throughout the rest of the day, when I'm not working out.

Depends on what you want to use them for. I have both a Fitbit and a Polar FT4. The Fitbit is great just to calculate your actual daily activity. The HRM works best to get a more accurate calorie count for your exercise. If you base your actual caloric intake on your exercise calories (ie. eat most of them back), then both tools are very valuable and neither requires a subscription fee.
  • I have the Polar FT-4 and love it! I do not work out without it. I use the fit bit zip all day everyday just to keep track and hit my 10,000 step goal a day.

Hi- I just bought a fitbit zip earlier this wk on advice from my trainer- and im *totally* ADDICTED! The next day i went and bought the aria scale, it's absolutely amazing and i find fitbit so motivating. i was talking to someone and told them i thought it was the best thing i have ever done for myself, and i truly believe it is. it interfaces grt w/ MFP, i haven't had any problems.
