Has anyone tried it? Just ordered some and so looking forward to trying it since I am a peanut butter fanatic!

I Just ordered some too. I have seen a lot of people on here listing in diary's. I have also read lot of reviews on line. I hope it is good , I love it too, but always limit myself to 1 or 2 teaspoons because of calories & fat grams  Here's hoping it tastes great !! :drinker:

I just bought some, and its just not the same. I'm not going to say it tastes bad, just pretty "meh." I don't think I'll be using it in the same ways I would use regular PB (ie slathered on some toast), but I know many people use it in protein shakes and recipes. I'd love some suggestions for anyone who has a PB2 recipe.

The chocolate PB2 has a more complete taste.

I use both pb2 and chocolate pb2. It isn't as good as the real thing (hello, no fat!) but it's an acceptable alternative. I use it in pbj sandwiches, with apples, with bananas, in my shakes, and when I'm craving chocolate and I have barely any calories left I do this:2-3 tbsp chocolate pb2 mixed with 1-2 tbsp special dark baking cocoa and just enough water to make a paste. Eat directly out of the bowl and lick the sides for complete clean-up. Excellent way to completely wipe out a chocolate craving for 55-85 calories.

Thanks all, I guess tasting exactly like peanut butter would be to good to be true but if it gets me through a few hard times its worth a try.

www.byrdmill.com. Go there and get peanut flour. Same thing....no added junk and a fraction of the price. Love PB2, but this is the same only cheaper. :)

I buy it on the netrition website. I like it better as a dip (for apple slices or other fruit, celery) than on a sandwich. On a sandwich I prefer natural pb. I also prefer the chocolate pb2 over the regular. I have never put in smoothies since I'm already happy with the flavor and nutrition profile of my smoothies.

I buy a different brand called just great stuff..you can buy it in supermarkets or order it from their website. I prefer the taste of it over the PB2..I love adding it to my protein shakes and to my oatmeal. Its delicious and very versatile.

I don't care for it as a peanut butter, but I love it in smoothies.

  • I'm a HUGE lover of chocolate PB2!!! I spread that business on bananas, apples, kashi blueberry waffles, Ezekiel raisin toast, throw it in my oatmeal, protein drinks, cereals..........I just get wild with it ;)

The chocolate pb2 has a weird flavor to me... Hmm. I do use pb2 in things like shakes, recipes for baking, etc. but I would NOT use it as a peanut butter substitute on say a pb&j. It completely lacks the fatty creamy texture and quality to it. It has the flavor 100% but not the texture.

Just keep that in mind the first time you try to mix it with water. ;)

I second the peanut flour, so much better than pb2 - lots of protein and no salt or sugar so you can add stevia or whatever you want. I use it in my protein bars, shakes - you name it. You can order it in 5 lb bags - I order the 12% Light at Byrd Mill.
