Do I have to count these?

So... TMI - potty training my kid. Every time she 'goes' in the toilet, she gets a mini-marshmallow. Do I have to count the one that Mommy gets in celebration for not having to clean the floor?

    Hahaha I remember those days!

I don't count little things like that...for example...I chew about 3-4 pieces of gum a day (3 cals a piece). Mini marshmallows are about 2 each. So, as long as you're not eating half the bag in celebration, I wouldn't count it. But that's just me.

Only if you're finding yourself having a million "little" things here and there throughout the day. A skittle here, marshmallow there, two pieces of gum, three mints, a spoonful of gravy while cooking, bite of chicken nugget when feeding your kid, etc etc you know what I mean. That can all add up fast.

If its just a once a day occurance though, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

I don't count the occasional hershey kiss my son gets when we have a similar celebration. :)

I would, but I'm pretty anal retentive. It's probably not necessary...I count all kinds of little things like that and they don't really make a hill of beans difference really, but like I said...I'm anal...and I'm an accountant.

I know it is silly but I count everything. The minute I skip something I end up over the next days and weeks with holes in my diary (recovering from it now) I count stupid stuff like .1 of a serving of Sun Butter from licking the spoon after making my daughter a sandwich. Logging only takes a minute and for me logging everything works. Realistically, they aren't many calories and a few mini marshmallows to celebrate aren't going to ruin anything so do what works for you.

I usually try to count everything. I know its tempting to not enter small things but too many of them can add up. Yet trying to count every little thing can be such a pain.

If there are only a few calories in it you could skip it. Or if you had several through out the day, you could just add in one regular size marshmallow at the beginning of the day. I know I just enter coffee and milk first thing in the morning to account for the coffee with milk that I will drink through out the day.

I only just discovered today Chewing Gum had calories in it!

    Mortified!

Im sure one little one isn't going to hurt, as long as it is just one little one :)
