I started a Couch to 5K running program today. It actually felt good to be running again after 2 years of not! I really was scared to get started again because I am so out of shape. As I ran, I could just feel that weight bouncing right off of me! It's going to happen this time!! I know it is! I know that I will be able to stick with this program, and lose some weight! Something about this time feels different. Maybe it was my doctor saying I was going to have to be on meds for high cholesterol for the rest of my life or plan to have a stroke, maybe it its that I see that I can eat and be full and still be, if not under, then real close to my calorie goal for the day. Food is where I have always sabatoged myself. I never felt like I had any control over my food, but I'm finally starting to feel that control. I can say no to chips. I can walk by the candy bars. I can choose a healthier option to control my cravings. Maybe not a chocolate bar, but a spoonful of peanut butter with a few semi sweet chocolate chips. Do I give into the chocolate bar sometimes, yes I do, but then I get back in control and start fresh. I don't know where this new mindset come from, but damn I like it!
