Quitter weight

Hi all,
I've recently quit smoking (hooray!!) but while I was going through that I traded cigarettes for food. So now I'm dealing with the consequences of several months of binge eating. Well worth it, but I feel like I've gone from one unhealthy habit to another. I'm a 23 year old single mum with a 3 year old daughter, and I want to set a good example for her and make sure we BOTH eat right all the time.
Good luck to everyone embarking on their own weight loss journey and feel free to add me as a friend if anyone is looking for a diet buddy. A bit of extra support is always good!

I hear you! I weighed 125 when I quit smoking, and my weight went right on up to 165. Hot tea really helped me stop eating everything that wasn't nailed down. I also began running 3-4 miles a day. It took some doing to work up to that, but it was very much worth the effort. I got back down to 145. Now I have extra weight from having babies and being a compulsive binge eater. That is why I am here. Get something that will help you break your eating cycle. I am currently picking up every idea I can find for this.0

Congrats for quitting smoking! Making healthy changes should be done in smaller steps. You don't want to become overwhelmed as this would increase your likelihood to quit. Good for you. You can do this!0

I ended up quitting when I got pregnant and gained NINETY pounds while carrying my son. Last I heard the average is like.. 30-50. Lol paying for it in spades now, but you can do it! And I'll tell you, being able to do cardio without wanting to barf is the best reward I've had so far from quitting!!0

I put on over 30lbs when I quit, got it off a while back and gained 20lbs of it back thru lack of exercise and diet. You have to keep at it.0
