Stumbling on the last few pounds

Hey everybody,
I know it might be some kind of complain on high level, but I'm really getting frustrated at the moment. For a month I've not been able to work out seriously due to different illnesses and infections, the cold of winter makes me wanna eat loads of junk food and makes me so tired and worn out. When I get to working out my circulation seems to nearly collapse and I get dizzy.
So of course the scale won't move at the moment, I feel bloated and my overall motivation is nearly gone.
I've only got 10 more pounds to go and I catch myself thinking: "What difference will these ten pounds make? You won't look like you imagined anyway, so why bother?" My apperance is still a lot bigger than I would have guessed/dreamed beforehand and I don't think I will look lean after reaching my goal anyway.
So to put it in a nutshell: This winter has made me lose my motivation and I'm really frustrated about it. /rant

Hey Moxy...it's been a while since I've logged on here...I know how you feel...This winter took it's toll on me as well. :( But, I'm back now...I just wanted you to know that you have provided me with lots of motivation...you have made a positive impact on my life...when I logged on here this morning I was thinking of you and your motivational posts...so now I guess it's my turn to motivate you...if I can...from reading your post, I think it's safe to say that you aren't satisfied with your looks vs your progress...I just want to say that it's not about how you look...it's about how you feel...eating healthy and exercise makes you feel better right? So, keep doing what makes you feel good...to hell with how we look...I'm beautiful enough for me and that's enough for me. :) Exercise puts a SMILE on my face (which is every woman's most beautiful feature in my opinion anyway). I do it (exercise) because, while I do hate exercising at first, I find myself smiling at the end of it...just can't help it. Guess it's all those feel good endorphins that get released by exercise. :) As far as being sick-add some L-Lysine and Chewable vitamin C to your DAILY supplement intake, and I PROMISE you will discover that you hardly EVER get sick. :) Keep moving forward. :) You won't regret it. :)
  • Thanks for cheering me up a bit. :)
Yes, I love excercising and I only do the kind of excercise I really love and yes, it feels a lot better to carry around 50 lbs less. But somehow this winter leaves me so depressed that I'm barely satisfied with myself. I feel lazy and bloated and like the weight will never come off. And the moody part of me just wants to stop, switch to maintain and give up that dream of ever wearing shorts or short skirts or bikinis in public.
Concerning vitamins: I'm taking some combination of vitamins (A, C, B, E, D), but I'm getting sick anyway. Seems like my body just doesn't like me that much ;)
I just don't know, what's wrong with me. I made such a progress last year and I can't explain to myself why I'm so demotivated at the moment.

Add the L-Lysine. It will help you to not get sick and it will help you get better if you are sick with a cold or whatever--Just try the L-Lysine! You won't be disappointed. L-LYSINE....

I only take a multi-vitamin about once a week or less as of right now. For now, my DAILY intake is L-Lysine, Echinacea, Garlic and Chewable C. I take Potassium only when I'm having muscle cramps or feeling bloated...I take Magnesium only when I'm feeling depressed...I take Cranberry supplements only when my pee pee is dark...I take a Vitamin D (and/or 20 min. in the sun) or Cod Liver Oil supplements (only) when my feet (I HAD a bone spur...I started taking Vit. D/Cod Liver Oil and it cleared up) hurts or my plantar fasciitis is acting up...which is almost never now....THANK GOODNESS! cause that crap hurt...I take a 5 Hour Energy if I feel fatigued and I find myself laying in front of the T.V.... :) Hope this helps.... :)

Sorry that you are struggling. When we are sick, especially over a long period of time, it can be extremely hard to eat the right things and get the exercise in. I know for me, junk food can be very comforting and can be hard to resist when your defenses are down from not feeling well. I know that you said that you are getting vitamin D, but maybe you aren't getting enough vitamin D. You may want to look at adding additional vitamin D. Also, a good probiotic might help too. Hope you are able to find some relief soon.
  • Thanks, girls. I'm going to try your tips and see where they lead me. So glad to have you around!
