The other night I was flipping though the documentary section on Netflix and stumbled upon this really interesting movie. Anyone wanting to be healthier and wanting to lose weight should watch Hungry for Change. It's just wonderful!!

I just watched that a week ago. It totally inspired me to stop drinking soda of any kind. Tons of information and really motivational. I loved it too.
Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead is a good one too.0 -
I just watched that 2 nights ago too! Seriously a great movie!
I noticed netflix has a lot of good documentaries right now based on food, diets, etc.0 -
Love this one, its kind of a follow up to "food matters"0
-
Thanks! I just got Netflix yesterday, I'll definitely check it out.0

I watched Food Inc. if you never want to eat again, or become Vegan, watch that!0
-
Or not... I don't watch documentaries on food.0

It's no worse than the food safety class I took.0 -
Every so often I like to watch these documenteies because to be honest. WHile Im not a meat eater. I think it is very easy to
eat garbage (processed foods) and not think about the damage it is doing to your body, your health and the enviroment. I don't do dairy often and when I get stuck in a situation I may go for the cheesy pasta or some other not so healthy choice. so, while I may not agree or want to do 100% of what some of these videos like FAT, SICK and NEARLY DEAD, THE ENGINE 2 DIET, FORKS OVER KNIVES etc. These movies make me think and get back to eating better. There always something positive in them that inspires me to do better for my health.0 -
Anyone else here want to run with The Doctor? Hoping to get fit enough to, even if it's just running with my husband. :-)0

I'll run with the Doctor. As long as it's 10!0 -
10 is the best for sure!0

I'm intrigued. Going to go watch it now.0

I was gonna say - looks like there are a heck of a lot of Whovians on this post! LOL! Yeah, I'd choose 10, as well. 9, in a pinch. 11... well, I'd run with him, but I'd be thinking of 10!0

Watched forks over knives and vegucated a couple of nights ago and now I'm taking the steps to become vegan...0

Awesome! Thanks!0

Ooooh yeah, just what I want to watch, a "documentary" that's really just a one sided view from people with an agenda, trying to sell stuff...
Sorry, I'll trust the actual science, personally.0 -
I watched about 20 mins of Food Inc before i had to turn it off.
I get the message but its somewhat missing its target with me...i like meat... i accept that. I don't accept what happens to animals prior to me purchasing them. However showing some of it in such details meant i ( and i am sure others) turned off. We know what goes on and i take steps to avoid buy unhappy mistreated foods.
I would have rather they spent their money of a film like this for the UK market where we all assume we consume less frankenfood and our animals are all free range.
The Tesco crisis would not be such a shock then,
i'll have a look at the other movies i do like a good expose!
on a side note... i'm a 10th Dr kinda girl but if hes busy with you i can cope 11 or Cpt Jan0 -

Ohhh Captain Jack. Yeah! I picked 11 for my ticker because he is reaching his hand out to bring River in the TARDIS. I am using it to visualize moving in that direction as he holds out his hand. If I could find one with 10 holding out his hand, that would be ideal. The Master doing the thumbs up...well that it just a "way to go" when I complete my daily diary. Every little bit of motivation helps, right?
I watched Super Size me the other day (on Netflix). That sure helped to steer away from fast food, even the salads aren't that healthy!0 -
I also watched this movie, and I agree. Very interesting, a must-see!0

A couple of times I've signed up for Netflix following a recommendation of a film on there, only to find that the film isn't there! Netflix doesn't seem to allow to you to browse their catalogue before paying, so there's no way to check beforehand.0

I actually found it to be boring. There was a lot of push for juicing and each of the speakers own diets that they've written. I didn't really feel like it was educational at all. I think there are much better food documentaries out there.0

I watched it last night after I saw this post and I have to say I was suprised I really enjoyed it! I already eat a very clean diet it just kind of reminded me of the reasons I eat the way I do.
Thanks for the recommendation I give it to big thumbs up !0 -

Schlock.
Buzzwords: MSG, Diet soda, Aspartame.
Hazards: MSG makes you fat, Diet Soda kills your brain cells.
Summary: You aren't in control of what you eat, you are caused to be "Addicted" by a manipulative food industry.
~4:30 into the "documentary" diet soda is shown to have 310 calories.
Great stuff...0 -
thanx, I will definitely check it out0
