Hi

Hi There,
I'm new to the site, been using it for a week now and I am having my first weigh in tomorrow.
I think the site is brilliant and I love the posts and the support shown by the members. I have around 100lbs to lose, it's going to be a long old slog, I reckon it will take me a year and a half, but then it's taken me 38years to get to 18 stone, so investing a year and a half in my ongoing health and happiness seems worth it.
Ongoing consistency will be my challenge, but I'm encouraged by the amazing results on here. Not really sure how to add friends but would love some support.
Julia

  • Good Luck Julia - I am in the same prediciment (wanting to lose 100), but am 10 years older than you. Been at my "Journey to Health" for over two weeks now, my trainer just turned me on to this site and I have mapped out my first days worth of meals. I may get addicted to this site!!!

  • I just started "my fitnesspal" today I want to lose 27 lbs. I have struggled to keep at a healthy weight for 35 years. I truly have tried so many diets and most of them have worked. My problem is I always resort to my old habits and gain the weight back, I have never tried a computer log and I am hoping that will keep me accountable. My downfalls are chips, cheese, fried chicken, cheese cakes, French fries, all take out food, chocolate, nuts, more cheese, and fat. I know if I stick to fruits, veggies, and lean proteins the weight will melt off . I am also a firm believer in the eight glasses of water a day. My past history is to lose the weight and then stop all my good habits.
Learn from my mistakes and take this healthy eating plan as a way of life. Don't skip the water once you've lost the weight. I love to drink coke and ice tea and I can't seem to do it in moderation so it always packs on even more calories.
Over the past four months I gained about fifteen pounds. I am hoping this time as I loose to incorporate a couple of my favorite foods every week so that I don't feel so deprived. It's a new plan and a new challenge. Good luck !

    Hi Mary,
I too have done many diets over the years, I did lighterlife 4 years ago and lost 3 stone, but have put on 6.... realised the only way I'm going to lose it forever is to re-educate my eating habits long term. The water thing isn't something I'm good at, I drink quite a lot of tea, but am trying to cut down on the diet fizzy drinks.
    Good luck to you too!
    Julia :)
