Anyone have the Garmin Forerunner 210

Hi,

I am seriously considering getting a Garmin Forerunner 210. If you have one, do you like it? Is it worth the investment?

FYI, I plan to only use it for running to help measure distance, calories burned, pace, etc.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I have the 110 and LOVE it. A few good friends have the 210 and love there's as well so I would recommend either

I have a 405 and I love it! I'm not sure what the differences between them, but I'm sure the 210's are great as well.

I don't have the 210 but I have the 410. Mine has way more stuff than I need. I have the HR monitor strap with it and get distance, pace, HR, calories burned etc. I don't use all the training features. But yeah, if you're a runner, a Garmin is worth it.

I have the garmin and used to use it every single workout, but for a company that specialises in GPS technology, the ' maps' are nothing more than a grey squiggle on a yellow background...pretty pathetic map software, but the unit itself is top quality

Hello: Check out the product on Amazon. There is lots of feedback on the product you have questions about.
  • I have the 305 and it's great. Not sure how similar it is to the 210, though.

Here is a performance comparison of 8 different GPS watches including the 210 that might be helpful:

I too have the 305 and love it, although I wish the gps signal picked up a little quicker when I'm in a new location (I travel a lot).
DC Rainmaker has really thorough reviews and comparisons here: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/12/garmin-forerunner-210-in-depth-review.html

I have the 405 and think Garmin is one of the best for tracking running. Love seeing all the info it provides.

Thanks everyone. I have checked out dcrainmaker for his review and also checked amazon.com. That's one reason I was asking on here because some of the amazon customers had problems with the chest strap and I was wondering if anyone on here had had the same issues or if that was just a bad strap. There are always some with issues and I would be surprised if there was ever a product that everyone is happy with. Thanks for the feedback. :flowerforyou:

I have a Garmin and had huge problems with their new soft HRM strap. Two of them wore out and quit working right after around 2 to 3 months of daily use. I did find a solution though. I went back and bought their original hard HRM strap. That one works flawlessly. You can order them from the Garmin website.

I've got both kinds of straps. (I thought I lost the old one, bought the new one to replace it, and then found the old one.)
    I prefer the old one.

When you say "old one" are you talking about the soft strap or the old "hard one?"
