Well, I strayed once again and now I'm going to have to step it up again. I get so wrapped up in everything that has to be done and stressing about work, home, family, etc...I just let myself go. I have realized in doing this that I could VERY easily go right back into the old habits I had before. I don't know that I'll ever just be able to relax and enjoy eating again. It'll forever be something I have to keep my mind on. It kind of makes me sad because I do love a variety of foods. I know I can still have what I want in limited amounts but most of the time my mind doesn't just want a small bite. It wants the whole pan/bowl/plate. Sad to realize I'll always have to keep a close eye on myself.

Please realize that you are not alone in this area; I believe we are all in the same boat. Don't stress it; you have already lost alot of weight and you can do this.

You can't let other outsides forces stop you from taking care of yourself. It is important for you to take care of yourself, I was the same way for a while; and this is what brought me around - if you don't take care of yourself, the people who need you won't have you to rely on. So try and take it all in stride and keep going!

    Take care and keep moving!

Actually, I think that no matter how much our target is, we each have to come to that realization and deal with it. I, too, have thought about "what I'm giving up" off and on along this journey, but not as a deterrent - just as a fact of my life. I haven't had any fast food since I started here at MFP, and there are days when I am really tempted. For me, the key is finding foods that are good for me and are yummy enough to help me bypass the fast foods. (Such as, a container of yogurt doesn't satisfy me, but put down a bed of lettuce, some fresh pineapple, and half that yogurt, and I'm in 7th Heaven. )

After finding out how many calories and how much sodium is in most of that fast food stuff has made it easier to "drive on by". It took a while before I went out to eat at a restaurant either. Now my husband and I eat out for breakfast/lunch every Sunday after church, and I have learned what I can eat and what to pass on.

Having had the concerns of high blood pressure, I have to say that I would "rather have the concerns of which foods to eat and how much" (much easier to have control of). Would I go back to the old way of eating? - NOT IF I CAN HELP IT... LOL I now LIKE what I see in the mirror, and LOVE the way my husband (and others) look at me... Can't wait to show off the new me at an upcoming wedding.

There will always be the part of you that wants to give you excuses for giving up - we all experience that - but put on your earplugs and trudge forward! You are on a mission!!!! One that will lead you to a new place in your life that you can't even imagine at this moment in time! Hang in there!
