I made this on Saturday, it's almost gone already...
Ingredients
2 cups Wholemeal flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
60 g butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 cup flnely chopped dates
4 ripe bananas, well-mashed
1/3 cup milk
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and egg with 1 tablespoon of the sifted flour.
Beat Well, then stir in dates and bananas.
Sift flour, baking powder and soda into the bowl.
Fold in the remaining flour mixture alternatively with the milk.
Spread the mixture into a greased loaf tin and bake for 25-35 minutes.
Recipe notes:
You can add grated apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. The apple makes it more moist - so use less milk.
Also some chopped walnuts added with the dates gives a lovely texture.
So yum

Sugar is an ingredient. There's no sugar. Therefore it's sugar free. It may however contain dextrose or fructose, which are other ingredients.0 -
I'm really sorry but I don't have any info on the calories in this cake! A quick google gave estimates between 200-250 calories per slice, my slices are around 2-3cm thick.0

Technically I do mean no added sugar, but you can't really live your life thinking about the sugars in bananas and dates as they are packed with many other nutrients other than sugar. If you go around telling the majority of the population they can't have this fruit/that vegetable because it contains natural sugars, then nobody would be able to eat fresh, wholesome food.0
