im very down :(

some of you may have read earlier about this ocular migraine thing i experienced for the first time. Well, everyone here is tell me not to go to Zumba today, for fear of over-exerting myself..but i just dont know!

i havent missed a single class yet, and i feel just awful at the thought of not going. I dont want the same thing to happen to me again (loss of vision in one eye for about 20 minutes/lightheadedness) and i KNOW i probably SHOULDNT go, BUT i also feel fine right now..and the chances that i will feel fine while exercising is possible too..

so im basically writing this to try and help myself make up my mind about going or not.

GRRR!! i really do NOT want to put a stop to my streak of not missing a single class yet!!!
but i also do NOT want another weird head feely thing!

    Don't go.
1 day won't kill you. Your sight is more important than 400 calories for the day! You can catch up tomorrow.

I used to get ocular migraines a lot when I was in college. I have not had one for years now. I don't think that exercise causes them - so if you feel fine it should be OK to go to your class. Make sure you stay hydrated and if you start feeling funny, just stop.
Otherwise, if you decide not go, don't be so tough on yourself! Maybe try something else first, even a brisk walk, and see how that goes.
Your body will tell you what to do.

    Best of luck!

I suffer with them too and they have been much worse since i began diet and exercise
for me its seems to be related to gettin my blood sugar levels right
if i dont eat often then they seem more frequent
maybe u cd try eatin something a hr before and see if that helps
I do sympathise because I am finding it hard to get the balance right too and they are pretty scary if u r not home or somewhere that u feel safe

Maybe you should just go, and take it kind of easy....then like other's have said if you start to feel weird AT ALL just stop and either take a break or go home, whatever you feel like doing at the time. That is awesome that you haven't missed a class! WTG on your dedication :)

I don't think you should attempt it sweetie.
One day of not going might do you some good.
Stay home, relax with your bunny and feel better... please?:ohwell:

    Hey hun!

I agree with those that say you should not go today. I know it's hard! I can't standing missing a workout!! BUT, it could get even worse and you won't be able to go AT ALL if you push yourself.

Just take it easy. We are all entitled now and then.

    Hug!

i just wanted to let you all know that i decided not to go. I was very reluctant, and almost turned around to go back as i made my way out of town... but i decided that the only one reprimanding me for not going is ME!

so, all in all, i think that this day off will be a good repair day for my muscles, a good rest day for my stupid TOTM and a rest on my already strained twisted ankle!!

im glad to have read from others that have experienced the same exact thing, what i think is an ocular migraine...it was very scary, almost induced a panic attack bc it was so sudden! My heart rate shot up when i stood up from my ball and realized that my vision was just about gone, and that my right eye was much worse than my left. NO peripheral vision at all! I have never had a migraine before in my life, so this was totally new to me, then someone at work mentioned the ocular thing..so i looked it up, and thought the symptoms described were exactly what was happening. Then i called my mom who said that my dad had experienced it before...

So anyway, anyone else that has experienced this, i would love to hear from you, as i know nothing about migraines!!!(even the kind that dont hurt like this one!)
