So, scars are sexy?

Scars give you character. Most people like people that look interesting in some way or another in my experience.0

So one of my students points to my head the other day and goes "You have a scar on your forehead . . . like Harry Potter!!" Score . I'll take it, lol0

On men I always thought so...on women I never thought so.
I'm a woman and I have a few ,so I must ask men to elaborate. Those who think they are sexy or at least ok?
I have...
1) a motorcycle engine burn scar on my calf,
2) a scar on my ankle where my foot went into the spokes of a bike and took a chunk out,
3) a biopsy scar on one breast (benign),
4) a surgery scar on my lower spine (which I consider getting a tatoo over),
5) a chicken pox scar on the side of my forehead where I part my hair (so it shows more)
6) and a long happy face scar where my hernia surgeon decided to do a tummy tuck "while he was at it".
Are any of these sexy? Or just gross. Why or why not? I am equally self conscious about ALL OF THEM!0 -

Always sexy . They tell a story and make you who you are .0 -
To quote Hatebreed "Every lasting scar shows what it's taken to be who we are".0

I have quite a few scars; 5 can be covered unless it is warm and the other couple are so small that you can barely notice them.
All of mine were from operations and treatments - not from accidents. In a way I wish they were from accidents then they would have a bit more of an exciting tale to tell.
But scars definitely tell a story and start conversations which in it's own way is sexy.0 -
Yes, scars are extremely sexy0
-
Yep. On women too. Who wants a soft life?
"I don't want to die without any scars."0 -
I think they are! I know it's TV but when Oliver Queen on "Arrow" is shirtless and you see all his scars....:devil:0

Somebody give me an ego boost and tell me c-section scars are sexy. Please.
Feed my delusion.0 -
I have a nasty scar on the back of my right leg. I was rock climbing in Canada and rock flipped on me and I got stuck. Somehow got it off... and I now have a nasty scar from it BUT the good thing is, I dont have to shave that area because hair cant grow there anymore!0

Works for me! I have some scars on my knee from knee surgery about 10 years ago. I figure it's part of who I am, so I've never tried to cover it up or anything. You can often learn something interesting about someone by knowing how he/she got the scar!0

Well I can only HOPE scars are sexy!!!
No kidding..is scars are sexy I am a freaking 12!0 -

I would have to see #3 to comment appropriately   :bigsmile:0 -
I have a six and a half incher ....
On my right knee.
IDK about sexy , but I don't mind it. I view it as a battle wound. Totally still would rock out knee baring skirts with boots.0 -
Nobody has ever told me my c section scar was sexy either... My tummy just looks like a mangled up mess to me-- and my fat bulges out over it... I HATE it!!!0

I have a scar that runs from the corner of my eye, down towards my ear. As I've aged, it has mostly disappeared, and you can barely see it now, but when I was younger, people used to ask me if someone slashed my face with a knife! I cut it by trying to outrun my brother and ducking underneath a barb-wire fence to get away from him! The Dr. just bandaged it and said that if he put stitches in it, it would make a bigger scar. It healed kind of 'wide', but looks ok now. I imagine someday, it'll blend in with wrinkles.
I also had rotator cuff surgery and have a 3 inch scar on my shoulder. It also healed veryyy well and is barely noticeable. I guess I have good skin. I don't think my scars are sexy.0 -

LMAO!!! I am right there with you. I feel like I am a walking scar. I have had numerous surgeries over the years (some are voluntary and some were required). The list is big for me and I am VERY self conscious of a couple of them the rest are well just there.
My newest ones are the ones that bother me the most. I am considering having the laser removal of the scars just to that I am not as self conscious of them. The ones that bother me the most are c-section (couldn't do natural birth due to the hierniated L4-L5/L5S1 and could not have fusion prior because I was pregnant), the two on my lower back from my fusion of my L4-L5/L5S1, there are two more one on the front of my abdomen and upper middle back from my neurostimulator implant. The reason they bother me so much is that they are still very pink, slightly raised (kinda a bit of keloid looking).0 -
Yes. I find them equally sexy as tats and piercings.0
-
VERY~!0

I sure hope they are, as I have a huge *kitten* one across my neck that's always a conversation starter.
Otherwise, uh, OP you are totally Harry Potter and that's awesome. I have a scar on my forehead (mostly covered by hair now) that I still like to clutch occasionally and go, "OOOH, MY SCAR" or "VOLDEMORT'S REALLY ANGRY ABOUT SOMETHING."0 -
<<<Got burn scars all down the left side of my body. Left arm is the most prominent. Nice knife scar on my right shoulder. Guy that did that went all the way to the bone.0

To some yes. To the person with the scars probably not.......
guys will say anything and although some may be sincere - most are probably just using that as an excuse to talk to you.
I have tons and i don't think one of them is sexy....0 -
I got a nice scar on my neck... Snow mobile + Barb wire accident!.. Anouther on my left peck... Orange hot metal accedent when I was working at a car parts factory..scars on my knuckles... fights in High school...those are the most noticable...0

I love things that make people distiguished. Not all scars are sexy but the person can be sexy and have that added character to their body. You are right though, not a fan of my many scars but find them attractive on others.0 -
Loads of scars, all from fighting. Biggest scar is when I was having a fight and me and this guy both went through a storm glass door. I got a big piece of thick storm glass stuck in my back. At the time I was more bothered/embarrassed about my clothes getting torn off by the glass!0

I don't know if this counts since it's not really a scar, but my boyfriend is blind in one eye. When he had a cataract in that eye, I thought it was beautiful. After his lens popped out and he had emergency cataract surgery, I still think his eye is beautiful. His seeing eye is very pretty, too.0

"a scar simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you".
I love my scars. Even the one that makes my one eyebrow all wonky. Every one has a story - a couple sad, a couple funny. They are part of who I am.0
