the most beneficial thing to do would be to buy a heartrate monitor so you know exactly how many calories you are burning doing the shred, running, or any other exercise. The machines are hardly ever correct (elliptical, treadmill etc)

I would suggest gettin a HRM...

However, before I got my HRM I tracked 30DS as circuit training. This was actually pretty close to my HRM burn. The circuit training on here was just a little bit less than what my HRM said. However, this isn't true for everyone.

I use a Polar FT4 HRM, it works great, except for floor work- like sit ups. When I use it to ride my stationary bike MFP calculates higher calorie count than what my heart rate monitor calculates. Since starting with a HRM I have dropped weight a lot quicker, I think it's because I am now more accurate with my calculations.

And I am doing Jillian Michael's Body Revolution. I just started week 2 today. My HRM says I burn 449 calories an hour doing it. (I have been doing the work out and cardio back to back for an hour work out.)
  • Thank you everyone! :)
