Lose track after a couple months

The last two years in a row I have lost around 30 lbs at the beginning of the year old to start out the next year right where I started the year before. I know when I lost the 30 lbs each year I feel great and I really would like to lose that an a lot more. My problems are I am the only one in my house that is doing this, also with a large family it is very hard to feed the number of people we have and keep it on a budget. And lastly after the first 3 or 4 months of the year I just start losing interest and I let go. Instead of working out 5 days a week and some times twice I day I drop to 2 or less times per week until I get to the point that I just stop all together:explode: . Once I stop all together my diet goes to hell and the weight comes back. I want to get off the roller coaster and see that 50, 60 to nearly 100 lb weight loss that I want to achieve. Please anyone with advice give me your input!! I need to stay on track and I need all the encouragement that I can get. Thanks

when I was married my husband used to go to the gym reqularly and after that he mixed it up with either a visit to his friends house (different one ea time) or to the sports bar to watch the game. He only allowed himself to do this after his workout. If he didn't go work out then he didn't get his man time. He really enjoyed the time with his friends and some of them worked out with him. Maybe you could find something that you enjoy doing that your family does not want to participate in that could be your time. Maybe a trip to the hardware store (LOL). For my husband, when he stopped by his friends house that didn't work out, they would end up going to do something active with him.0

100 pound weight loss is achieved through lifestyle changes. You said you lacked motivation after the first 30 lbs you lose. Are your exercise goals realistic? Do you enjoy working out daily?
Let's say realistically your exercise consisted of playing with one or all of the 7 kids routinely. So this would be light exercising (because some times you will not be Super Dad to them all). What is the TDEE for a person 100 lbs lighter than you with a light exercising activity level? If you ate to that level activity now you would lose a ton of weight now fairly quickly and learn over the next year or so how a "normal" person at that weight eats and how they exercise while maintaining fatherly obligations for 2 families. You don't need a whole lot of motivation to be a person who eats appropriately for their size and exercises appropriately for their lifestyle.
It does require a bunch of whiteknuckling to eat a completely new restrictive diet and do a bunch of exercises when you don't routinely exercise as part of your current lifestyle. Take the pressure off yourself and make small changes that don't require huge comittments. Save all that sacrificing for your last 10 lbs (LOL).0
