Can you stall weight loss by eating too few calories vs. being too active. I'm not talk about the starvation myth or anything... more metabolically can you confused your body?

I was doing really well and was down to about 200 and then I took a yoga class, a Birkam yoga class weighed myself and I had loss a bit of weight, went to martial arts the next day and then weight myself and I had gained 3.1 pounds.

Now i know it varies daily but how does it vary that much in less than 18 hours?

Water retention / loss can easily fluctuate your weight by a few pounds. For example, my typical range is 4lbs over the course of a week.

I honestly think that if you aren't weighing yourself first thing in the morning after using the restroom before eating or drinking anything, you aren't going to get consistent results. Maybe you were slightly dehydrated after yoga and had eaten light for the day. Maybe you were fully hydrated the other time and had a heavier (not more caloric) lunch. Yesterday I weighed in and throughout the day my weight varied by up to 6 lbs. It's completely normal and I rarely weigh myself during the day, but I just recently got a new scale and I like to play with it. I record my weight first thing in the morning and ignore the rest.

Well I'm down 63 pounds so I am losing weight... I maybe should just go back to weighing myself once a week... Thank you.
