Does anyone know how to combat stress eating?

Hi everyone. I made a life-style change beginning at the end of May '12. I've lost 55 lbs. and 3 sizes. My Type A personality along with a busy life (3 teenagers - full of drama) including a full time job -- let me put it this way, I feel like I am sinking without a lifeboat. Teenage daughter throwing me for a loop this past week - telling me that I am not a good parent, treating me with disrespect, and just being defiant has caused me so much stress that I am eating the things that I normally don't and don't want to anymore. I am going to be 50 soon and I need to take care of myself first so that I can be a better wife and parent. I just don't know how to stop this "stress eating" cycle now. Drama is in all of our lives day in and day out. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.

As an ex-teenage daughter I just wanted to say....disconnect from her drama....you can listen and be glad your hormones have settled down
Teenagers are pretty much adults without apartments. This too shall pass.

You are so right. Thanks for reminding me of that. When in the moment though I tend to graze alot and then I suffer later.0

Im right with you !!! i have a 20yr old daughter who was a typical teen girl moving out at 16 in a tantrum then crawling back a year later , boyfriend in tow and hasnt bloody left!! now ****ty i have a younger than me boyfriend ( who is seriously hot !!) and told me since i got together with him and have lost my weight i act like a teenager !! WOOHOOO go me!!!! needless to say i kindly suggested her and her boyfriend move out so she doesnt need to watch me enjoying myself cause that must be such torture!!!
Add me , here to help. i go to the gym to relieve my stress or if i must eat then i choose something lower in cals/fat with less sugar to overeat with!!! like camembert and crackers!!0
