I'm posting this here and not in success stories because I'm far from done. This is more of a "just because you're not seeing it yet, doesn't mean it's not working" kinda thing. Sometimes it takes a side by side comparison to make it really stand out.
I've notice more lately that I'm getting stopped in the halls at work or people coming by my desk and telling me how I'm "withering away." To be honest, I can see it a little, but not a whole lot. I'm definitely not "withering away." Today, I took a snapshot of my face, more because I've been growing a full beard lately and wanted a shot of it. I ended up posting that picture to Facebook as my new profile picture. I immediately started getting feedback about how good I look and how I look like I lost weight. This was just a face shot. I just don't see it in my face, but having someone who I haven't seen since 2009 (except on Facebook) ask me if I've lost weight made me think about things.
So...I took a new picture tonight while at the gym and when I got home I went through some old pictures. I put them side by side to get some perspective.
The one on the left was taken a long time ago when I was probably at my heaviest, most likely 310+ lbs. This is pretty much a guess since I stayed away from scales back then. The one in the middle is a good representation of how I've been the last few years, anywhere between 270 lbs and 290 lbs. The one on the right was taken tonight .

Great job!! I had the same thing happen - people telling me they could see the weight loss, but I couldn't tell at all. It's always great to be able to see the results.0

You're doing great, huge difference! MFP works if you're doing it right0

You know, the weight kind of snuck up on us when we were gaining it, so it makes sense that it might melt away much the same...0

well done that's amazing! I am feeling pretty deflated at the moment as all I can still see is wobbly fat bits - I put a photo of me in my swimsuit 5 months ago next to one I took today and I could see a huge difference. We need to do this to I guess from time to time as we just get used to looking at ourselves everyday and can't remember how far we have come. Thanks for sharing - made me feel more positive!0

I really struggle with this. I'm STILL not where I want to be. Obviously, this is taking waaaaaayyyy longer than I want it to. But then I look at pics from 08 and 09 and I know it's not hopeless. I just have to be patient and persevere.0

I have had the same "problem." I have lost 57 lbs since January of 2012 but when I look in the mirror I can't see it. I've had many people comment on my weight loss and my girlfriend says she can see the difference, but I just can't see it. I'm not sure if it's because I see my self everyday and I just don't notice the small amount of weight I am losing each week or if I'm just used to seeing myself as big. All I do is keep pushin' play on my workout DVD's and keep pluggin' along. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has this "problem." Keep up the good work. Add me if your looking for a diet/workout buddy.0

Same thing here. After losing 70-something pounds, I would look in the mirror and think to myself, "I just don't see it". Then one day I took a picture of myself, and put it beside my "before" picture, and I was like, "Holy crap!!!" I couldn't believe the difference. Funny how our mind plays tricks on us like that.
Keep up the great work!0 -

Yeah, that "Holy Crap!!" moment hits and you want to send the comparison pictures to everyone you know and they are all like, "We know, we know."0 -
