Hi I'm new to this, havn't had to diet to much in my life but I'm getting older, 42 now had a hysterectomy don't know if that has anything to do with it. going to be a grandma for the first time and just stood on the scale for the first time in a while. 5'6" 170 lbs, really got me thinking, maybe I should do something about this. If you have any advice please feel free.

Excercise, eat with your daily calories alloted, eat your exercise calories, stay motivated. Ask questions if you need to. Good luck trust the system it works, we have alot of knowledge on here so if you ask a question someone should be able to give you a good answer...

Welcome to the family and I hope to get to know you better:drinker:

Wow, look at all the new faces! Welcome all of you guys that have joined up in the last few days and weeks. I guess it really is true what they say about new diets starting in the spring (although we don't call it dieting, we call it a lifestyle change)

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I don't mean Newbie in the derrogatory sense, we are delighted that you have decided that MFP is a good place to start your journey (or continue it!). Over the past 6 or 8 months some of us have put out some great, informative posts that have helped many on MFP. I hope you will take a few minutes and read them, they can be very informative and may head off some questions you ask before you ask em.
