Hi!
I have been trying to lose weight for a very long time and with the help of my doctor's and my family I am on the road to a new/old me. I am 50 years old and have 6 children (2 natural, 3 step and 1 grandson we adopted when he was 4 months old) the age range is from 38, 37 (passed away 2 years ago of breast cancer), 35, 23 (natural born with Down Syndrome), 22 (my baby by birth) and then the youngest of the bunch is 14 and he is the toughest one to raise so far. They are all the love of my life and then the strongest supporter of what ever I do is my husband of 24 years. He has helped me through many illness' and many troubles that could have cost me my life and now he is beside me with this program. My daughter is also a very strong supporter and the one person whom I am so very proud of to know as she helps me through alot without even knowing it.
I have been as high as 528-lbs and have lost down to 363-lbs and now I am at a point where I don't have the energy or the strength to do this without help from surgery so I am having a gastric bypass and before I go through the surgery I have to lose at least 15-lbs and the doctor's have me on an all protein mix for the next two weeks so that it will soften my liver so the surgery will be easier on me. Now I have made it through two whole days and so far it has not really been too hard just really frustrating as I don't eat much anyway but the wrong way was my problem. I will weight in the morning when I go to my mom's to use her scale and I will see what has happened. Today I got to the point of being very tired and very hungry when my boys and husband ate dinner but at least they didn't come in and eat in front of me so I will drink my drink and then add my water bottle to it and try to get some sleep.
I have found that I was drinking alot of sweet tea and now I found that Walmart has a brand Great Value Unsweetened Tea that is really very good. I couldn't even tell it was unsweetened until my husband told me he switched it. So for all those who like sweet tea give this a try and see if you like it. There are no Calories and no Sugar so it is allowed on my tight diet. If anyone sees that I am way below the Calories allowed please understand this is only for two weeks and then they are upping it to 1300 a day.
I hope to meet some new people as I really have no friends outside of my house and it would be great to talk to other's going through what I am going through. Sorry for being long winded.
