HELP!!!! I'm getting married this May!! I need a jump start on my diet...loved to know of safe jump start on weight loss....my goal is to lose 50lbs; this may not be possible, but I'm desperate to not be overweight on my wedding day.....any ideas are welcomed.
Thank you!

  • Eat less and healthier work out more. Count your calories. Lets be realistic though losing mor than 25 lbs between ow and may would be pretty unhealthy and shooting for a specific date can be unrealistic and a recipe for failure

50 lbs might not be realistic before May, but every little bit helps. Don't put off starting a healthier diet/exercise program just because you might not be able to lose it all before your wedding. Getting married is a great initial motivator to lose some pounds, but don't lose track of the long term health benefits of being fit.

Like many brides, I had intended to lose some weight before my wedding 2.5 years ago but never actually committed to it. I don't strongly regret it (I wasn't as overweight then as I was when I started MFP), but now wish I had had MFP to help keep me accountable for calories consumed/calories burned. If you'd like a friend for encouragement, feel free to add me.

Also, a dress recommendation - If you haven't gotten a dress yet and really are serious about losing weight, consider a corset back. That'll give you a little wiggle room and reduce the need for alterations.

    Congrats on your wedding!
