How did you know you had diabetes?

I have read up on the symptoms but just curious to know you noticed something was wrong.
I need to go get tested as sometimes when I have sugar or high carb meal, two hours later I get dizzy and shaky and feel like I am going to pass out but I think this might by hypoglycemia.

For type 1 diabetes, a lot of people find they need to pee all the time and feel thirsty all the time then get very ill, end up at the hospital and are tested there.
I think a lot of people with type 2 diabetes actually don't know for a long time because the symptoms do not become so severe as quickly. Sometimes it's picked up in a routine blood test then a formal test is done. Sometimes people don't know until they have a heart attack or stroke (where it is routine to monitor blood sugars afterward) and it is sometimes found that the person has had diabetes for years.
If you are concerned, there is no harm in getting tested.0
