Hi people

Immone of those that need to exercise together with eating less in order to lose weight weight. I lose it very slowly, but am currently very working very hard logging and gyming. Although I haven't lost yet on the scales, I have lost proper amount of inches....

I have somehow done my back in.... It feels like a slipped disc but don't want to have another MRI to figure it out. I have been flat out in my bed for 3 days except to go to dr who gave me a cortisone injection directly into my spine.

However, I'm very nervous about putting on weight here! Being home a large part of the day, together with not exercise is not conducive to keeping my mouth shut and continuing my journey.

Do any of you have any suggestions for me? How quick is too quick to be back in the gym? Is there anything I can do now?

Thanks guys,

Rachel

Ur exercise requirement is in the area of healing. Seek out the dragon dance.
  • Go see a doctor. If you are bedridden, you really need to figure out what it is, and then exercise after that.
Also there's no such thing as a person who needs to exercise AND eat less to lose weight, you can lose weight with good dieting alone. If anything, the dieting is 80% of your weight loss.

    Weight loss is 80% food.

You probably won't like this but I'd suggest going to maintenance until you're feeling better. Your body needs to heal; it doesn't need the added stress of a calorie deficit. It definitely doesn't need you trying to exercise while you're injured.

I don't remember off the top of my head what your calorie goal is but if it's lower than your BMR I'd raise it to at least that, if not all the way up to maintenance.

I know you want the weight off as soon as possible, but try to relax and focus on getting better.

And see your doctor of course, if you haven't already.
