in need of motivation and support

Hi guys! I have struggled with my weight for years then about 5 years ago I lost almost 100 lbs and felt GREAT! I kept it off for a long time but a pound here and there and before I knew it I had gained 60 lbs. I cannot believe that I did that to myself. Both my parents are overweight and both are disabled (with genetic conditions of course) and I can see myself headed down the same path. I know now is the time to stop this cycle before it is too late and it really affects my health. I want to be active and healthy until the day I die! As much as I know I have to do this, I have zero willpower and my motivation lasts only a day or 2 then I totally blow it. None of my friends have this problem so I'm pretty much doing this alone. I would love to connect with you guys and help each along the way. Let's do this!!!!!!

Finding your way to this site is a great place to start a healthier living style! Use the food diary, make it viewable to (at least) your friends so that they can give you tips and support. Find a bunch of friends to cheer you on and lift you up on those tough days. It really does make a difference. Send me a friend request if you like. Good luck!
  • Best advice I can think of is to be realistic and make mini-goals! When you achieve things little at a time even if it seems insignificant it can really boost your motivation to move further.

Create weekly or monthly goal for yourself. Even if it's as simple as ' I want to be 2 lb lighter by the end of the month'. It's something that's completely doable even if you slip up here and there. But ultimately you choose what's best for you to stride towards.

    And make MFP friends!
