    The ads you get on MFP are based on your searches/cookies - it is cookie advertising.

    The advertisements on the site generally look at websites you've used previously to gauge what kinds of advertisements to show you. If you maybe hit up "peoplesearch.com" at one point, it might have given the site a clue that you're looking for someone.

    I know this because I am a website owner, and my advertisements do this.

    I have posted a similar thing about this a few months ago..and my `advert` was mature dating and it is not because I ever go to sites that promote it or that I look for that sort of thing. I actually visit a lot of gaming sites...maybe they think that people who want to play or download games are looking for `adult` dating???

    I own around 20 websites and I don`t take `hostages` :tongue:

    Yeah, but you're in the forums and there is a lot of crap to wade through here...the ad generator is just being intuitive.
