New NSV for me

I have been on this weight loss journey for about six weeks. My husband and I are both overweight, mine from pregnancy, and his from my cooking after we got married. We were fighting a lot and we were almost never intimate with each other anymore, causing a lot of our arguments. When I brought it up one night, he honestly and in a way that I knew was not meant to be hurtful, informed me that he is no longer attracted to me. That was when I knew I couldn't keep living that way and I had to make some changes. I have now lost 4.6 lbs from my original weight. I have lost a total of 16 inches over my whole body, including 2 inches in my waist, 3.5 in my stomach, and 1.25 in my hips. But here is the best part of my NSV today.
You know your weight loss plan is working when your husband goes to get the baby out of bed while you get dressed into simple clothes like jeans and a tshirt, and just as you finish pulling a tshirt over your head, you see him standing in the door way, staring, and the first thing he says is "Damn, babe..."
Definitely feeling good this morning!

I've lost approximately my cat's weight since NY! I was wondering how much she weighed, so I stepped on the scale holding her (and was going to do it without and take the difference), and it was at my start weight for 2013. I put her down and reweighed myself. Later when I picked her up all I could think was "Damn. /This/ is what I've been carrying around on my body? I have five more of these to get rid of! It made it feel a lot more measurable, because seeing myself every day means I don't feel like the loss is physically that apparent yet.
Also. I guess this is /technically/ a SV, but it's less about the actual weight and more about quantifying it. Carrying her around makes my arms hurt, and I can't believe I did that all the time.
Congrats on your NSV!0 -
As someone who is a bit older, with older (12 and 21 years) children, I can tell you it is very easy to get caught in that trap. We let the kids, bills, house keeping, jobs, our weight, and just life in general get in the way of our relationship. Pretty soon you forget why you married the other person in the first place!! You guys are on the right track. By putting yourselves first, getting healthy, and feeling better, you will find that you can give more to your spouse and your child. As women we tend to neglect our own needs to focus on our families and then next thing we know we've turned into someone even WE wouldn't want to sleep with!! LOL!! Take care of yourself and you will be able to take even better care of your family.
BTW, I totally know what you mean about the confidence boost you get from a "Damn Babe!!" That is an awesome feeling and you should OWN IT!! GO GIRL!!

You are really an incredible person to be able to listen to such difficult feedback and make something positive of it. I don't know if I could do the same. You're a hero!
