Hello! My name is Paige and I have been on my fitness pal for months now but, I just started one month ago. I found this website 57 days ago and I have been hooked every since!
I was raised by my grandparents when I was a child because, my father was in and out of prison and my mom was a drug addict. (she has now been clean for about 4 years). I had a wonderful childhood and I was brought up to be kind, honest and respectful. I unfortunately remember a lot of trauma from my earlier years (before I lived with my grandparents) and I don't remember a lot of the good times. When I was 15, I got into my first relationship with a boy... throughout the course of our relationship- he shot me, he stabbed me, he abused me verybally, mentally and physically. I called off the relationship and he served his time in jail. The time that I spent with him proved to be too hard on my teenage girl mind and it still haunts me to this day. I was in a few relationships after that which were not sincere. I was cheated on in all of my relationships and found trust to be very hard for other's to earn.
I was incredibly lucky when I finally found the man of my dreams. We started off as friends, we became best friends and from there, our love blossomed into something that I never imagined. I fell in love with him very quickly and I let it be known. He and I suffered a lot of hardships in the beginning of our relationship. I had been moody and irritable for about 2 years before I met him, I had attempted suicide, I had a few crazy episodes and I truly didn't understand why all of that was still happening after meeting the man of my dreams. We have talked about taking breaks before when we are mad at each other, we have spoken rudely to one another and we don't always treat each other the way that we should be treating one another. We got engaged January 26th 2012 and ave been engaged ever since than. Our relationship is definately not perfect but, it's ours and I would never trade that. On December 20th 2012, we had our first baby, a girl, Journey Faith Anderson. She is our pride and joy. We have become stronger because of her and we have both been shown the importance of life.... family, love and happiness.
I have been suffering from bipolar disorder for 2 years and this was just recently brought to my attention. It makes sense but, I don't like to admit that to anyone. I have always struggled with my weight and I have always been insecure... I thought that my random mood swings and irritability were normal things for someone who had been through tramatizing experiences such as the ones that I went through.
Anyway, I think that I have said enough about myself. I am looking for some more friends to add to my wonderful supportive group. I have lost 8 pounds so far and I have 92 to go until I reach my overall goal weight. I am determined, motivated and encouraged but, I love seeing more people going through the weight loss challenges that I am going through. It's important to have friends while enduring these hard times.
I hope to get a few replies and hopefully I can send out some requests! Thanks for listening! It means a lot.
