I don't have a set number. I'm training for spring half marathons, so I run according to my training schedule (at least 25 miles per week), which for this week was as few as 3 miles one day and as many as 10 miles tomorrow...this week was 4 run days. I also did fitness pilates one day and yoga 3 days (two of those on days I also ran), so I had one rest day total. I generally burn about 2400 calories a week.

I run 20-25 miles per week. Whatever that works out to for calories is whatever it is. It's generally somewhere between 3000-4000 per week, but I run for mileage - not calorie burn.

I typically don't think of it as "gained calories" I look it as way to keep moderate diet below calorie level. As long as I am eating a healthy diet and exercising, i think I will be able to meet weight goals.

I can get 400-600 calories per 45-60 minute run. I try to run 3-4 times per week, weather permitting. When I workout with the Wii at home, I generally can only burn around 300 calories in the same amount of time. I just can't get my heartrate up high enough to do better than that. I workout 5-6 times per week.
  • Since I am at 1200 cals per day I definitely look at exercise as a way to increase my daily allowed calories. 1200 is fine but difficult day after day. I try to burn at least 500 each time I workout - usually doing classes at the gym, walking or cardio machines. I have a HRM so I have a pretty accurate count of what I burn. Sometimes I eat them & sometimes I don't ...well...ok...I eat them most of the time! :)

since January 7th, i've been on a personal challenge to burn 400 calories minimum in exercise each day- intentional, heart-beat raising exercise. I've done this every day since then and i do feel great- i'm getting my activity by walking 4.5 mph; elliptical; dancing; step class and Combat class- trying to mix it up. So far i've taken off five lbs.

I am training for marathon end of May. I typically burn 2500 - 3000 a week. That's purely on running. I also do strength training, and skating. I only think of skating as exercise on the days I get to skate without holding my 3 year olds hand lol.
