Seat Recommendations for Spin Bike Please!

I just started spinning - I love it, but my derriere hates it. I would like to buy a gel or memory foam seat and I would love some recommendations or guidelines from you guys. The seat right now is narrow and hard and it's really painful.

A few notes:

- I'm spinning with my cousin in her garage so I have my own bike and won't need to constantly remove and attach the seat.
- I'm 230 pounds and pear shaped so all my extra weight is in my butt, hips and thighs - the bigger the seat, the better (I imagine).
- The spin bike I have is a used Schwinn, but I don't know the model
- The attachment between the seat and the bike is round, not sure of the diameter

I did a quick look on Amazon and this seat caught my eye:

Anyone using that? Any thoughts on it from anyone?

    Your best bet is to probably go with a gel seat. You can get them at Canadian Tire or other similar places. They will fit right over pretty much any bike seat and then they have a drawstring to tighten around the seat.

    I will tell you though that the more you spin the less pain you will have. If you do find that you are bouncing around try upping your tension so that it forces you to sink your hips into the seat....sounds weird but it does work. In the spinning world friction is NOT our friend.

    Well, it's not like you get to try them before you buy them. The local bike shop here has a return policy on their saddles. Buy it, try it, don't like it? Bring it back for a full refund. Check with local cycling shops as far as return policy on saddles. Also, have you tried cycling shorts? They have extra padding in the crotch which may help as well. That it's a spin bike it's not really practical to have a huge "seat" on it and still be able to exercise as well on it. http://www.nashbar.com always has good deals and plenty to choose from but I would still recommend trying local bike shops first.

    Everything I have been told by the bike gurus I know is that gel seats and such are worse for you. There are wider seats made for women that are better but extra padding can cause problems. That and get a good pair of bike shorts with the chamois. And your butt will get used to it. Worked for me.

    I'd add another vote for a pair of bike shorts as the solution. In season, Iog hundreds of miles a week on a saddle that looks like it could get lost under me. The key is to have the sit bones on the saddle, end little else.

    The other benefit of bike shorts is that they are made to minimize chafing, which can be brutal.
