Hi, my name is Jenny, and I just signed up with this site yesterday. I was wondering who is looking to lose 90+ lbs, and what methods you are using to lose the weight. I am also looking for online buddies as a support system to help keep me motivated. I have been through so many "diets" and fads, and I hate the word diet! I am tired of hating my body and I need to change now! Not just another diet, but a lifestyle change, so if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it! I am a food-a-holic, and I need to find a way to not feel deprived of good food, but still lose weight.

Hello
I dont have 90+ lbs to loose but have weight to loose none the less lol
Once you log all that you eat good or bad and stay within your calorie requirements you will be fine
ensure you get alot of workout in there as well
Dont deprive yourself too quickly of stuff you like, I beleive in portion control, so you can still eat stuff you love so as not to get too bored or frustrated with your new lifestyle change
Keyword Lifestyle change....unless you plan to not eat any of the foods you like ever again, why cut them out of your eating habits daily.....if its anything too fattening, then treat yourself to something you love once a week
I love food.....I treat myself to an ice cream cone every Sunday night
You can do this....just be honest with your logging....and log everything
even if I have a bite from my sons snickers ...I log it...
I went to the movies Saturday and I know I was going to be on the road all day....before I left the house, I put in what I would eat on the road, to ensure I would be fine...and I realized I needed to go jogging for 4 miles to balance out the day...because I also wanted to treat myself to a skittles and a slurpee while at the movies....so I planned my day out to the last bite....to ensure I was in my calorie requirement
Take it one day at a time and you will see awesome results.....

Hey! I have 100+ to lose and so far have been doing good. It seems to really be kicking in and I have been "good" for about 6 weeks now. I have dramatically increased my water intake (really don't like it) and if I am working out I try to drink 9-10 glasses a day. I have really been keeping an eye on my sodium intake which I think has helped a lot. For a while I was losing the same 3 pounds for about 2 weeks but finally got over that hill  I would love to add you as a friend so we can motivate each other. I too have decided once and for all this is it! I am also measuring myself because even when I wasn't seeing weight loss on the scale, I still noticed it when I measured. I measure myself every 4 weeks. I am exercising to Turbo Jam and also getting on the treadmill some. Tomorrow I am going to start riding my bike in the mornings around the neighborhood (at least a mile). Today I am officially a size smaller (size 22) and am so excited Welcome and I wish you the best of luck.0

Hi Jenny,
I'm Honey, I have 84 pounds I want to lose and I have to lost a total 35.5 pounds so far. I started in December, it's a slow process but it's been worth it. Doing it right this time! I'm with you on the whole diet thing, the problem is you can not live the rest of your life like that. I have to say the myfitnesspal application on my phone has been great. I started with a different one and lost weight with it but then I started to use this one and liked it better. I can't really say what changed this time, but I decided enough was enough and I needed to be healthier. I was thin until I quit smoking 7 years ago and initially gained 50 pounds in the first couple months then added another 35 or so over the years. I definately exercise everyday now, my family and I got a dog in December so I walk her everyday for at least an hour. It helped me stop making excuses on how I don't have time, the dog has to be walked that's it. I had all the excuses too, I work full time, I have 2 active kids in school, sports and activities, blah blah blah! I guess I just finally took responsibility and said I have to make the change, and so far I'm doing well! I love to eat too! I still eat everything I want for the most part just in moderation, and this application is great because it really makes me think about what and how much I'm eating and do I really want it. So I can decide at dinner eat another pork chop or do I want a candy bar later instead of both. If I eat 8 buffalo wings instead of 5 then that's an additional 240 calories so it's things like that, that have helped me most! And I try to stay within my given calories everyday and if I want more I exercise until I have enough calories so I can something extra! So that's what I'm doing! Hope we can encourage eachother!0 -
I am also failry new to this site and want to lose 90+ pounds too! I have been working out 6 days a week and allowing myself one free day of no exercise and eating what I want. It has been working for me. I am bad about posting my weighins, calories and workouts. But I am wanting to get back on track with it. So far I have lost 3 pounds and lost 1 inch off of my hips, waist, chest, and biceps. I am only measuring myself once a month as well as weighing myself since working out this much will gain muscle a lot faster than losing pounds.
I would love to be you online buddy, I have asked my friends and even my mom to join but they seem to not want to for whatever their reasoning is. I need the support too.
I am also taking supplements to help me along as well, its called Reveal. You can get it at Complete Nutrition. It totally works and curves my appetite. It even helps your matabolism while you sleep!0 -
Hello,
Well I have a lot of weight to lose myself, about 50 lbs. I have high blood pressure, so I have to lose it for my health. However, I am only going to try and get the first 25 lbs. off then work on the next 25 lbs. That way, I don't get to far from my goal. That way it makes it more reachable. The first week I lost 4 lbs. Last week I was sick and could not exercise and only lost 2 1/2 lbs. but that is okay. I am going to get back to my exercise now that I am better. I do not lose as much, if I do not exercise.
I try to use my carbs allowance on vegetables and fruit instead of breads and pasta . I can not do bread, it slows down my weight lost. Don't get me wrong, once and a while I will have some bread, but only once and a while. If I have something sweet it has to be gluten free and I get it from Whole Foods. However I have to stay away from foods that trigger the cravings, so eating any kind of food with sugar is a risk to going over board. I also took up a hobby that keeps my mind off of food. that seem to work for me. I started playing the guitar. It helps to keep my spirit up and let's me focus more on that instead of eating.
Take care,

I have 100+ pounds to lose and started on 4/26/10. It's been a long journey for me so I took about a year off after losing 65 lbs. but that was the BIGGEST MISTAKE ever but I can't take it back so I am only going to move forward
I originally started with WW and even though I did lose well with them I started feeling like it was a "diet" and I got bored and that resulted in me quitting. I finally figured out that I am carb sensitive , I think I have known it but didn't want to admit it because I LOVE my carbs lol.
On 4/26 I started with a good low carb plan and so far so good. I can't believe that I have not touched sugar , bread, or pastas in a week , it's AMAZING that I no longer have the sugar cravings that used to drive me NUTS. I have come to the realization that this is a "LIFESTYLE" change for me and I no longer call it a "DIET".
I originally signed up with fitnesspal a couple weeks ago but never really took an interest in it ....but today I decided I had to get on here and keep track of my calories and carb intake as well as my water intake. So far I LOVE this site and hope to make it my home. Add me as a friend if you want and we can go on this journey together .....no such thing as to many friends or to much support0
