Just a quick question, i can't even eat all of the 1200 calories a day, unless i go out or whatever.
Is that a bad thing?
is that going to make me not lose the weight?

Yes, eat. You need the nutrition. Going under your calories for more than a couple days can be counter-productive.

Hello, once in a while is fine, but if you do this often and it sounds like you do, over time this will eventually throw your body into famine or starvation mode. Why because the minimum your body needs to function is at least 1200 cals a day. Here is a blog that could help you better understand: http://fattyfightsback.blogspot.com/2009/03/mtyhbusters-starvation-mode.html Hope this helps:)
O yea feel free to add me. lol0 -
You need to eat your calories. Eating bellow BMR will slow down your metabolism and your weight loss.
Check out the links posted by cmriverside. Ideally you should be eating more than 1200...0 -
I dunno. I'm 5'-0" and sometimes 1200 calories is impossible for me. I'm shooting for 1400, but yesterday...I ate some hearty meals where I felt like I was going to burst, so 1030-ish was as good as it was gonna get. :laugh:0

I wish short people would stop this... seriously... 5 feet... 6 feet.. YOU NEED TO EAT MORE THAN 1000 CALORIES.
I seriously do not know how you people do not start chewing on your friends arms and legs. I am 4'9.5" tall I have the hardest time eating 1200 calories but not because of the reasons you think, I CANNOT stay at 1200 calories as hard as I try if I eat anything less than 1400 calorie I become a raging b!tch - more so than normal, add exercise and the world would end if I ate 1000 Calories.
Eat more food... the end. If you need to sit your self down with a jar of peanut butter and eat it with a damn spoon. Eat calorie dense food, eat veggies, eat fruit, eat lean meats, eat carbs - pasta, bread oh my, eat cheese and drink milk.
Reaching 1200 calories is not hard - obviously you were doing it before you started trying to lose weight you had no problems doing it than so stop thinking its so hard now.
Edited: Spelling... not my strongest suit today.0 -
I started gaining weight by not eating all my cals! If I were you I'd eat the 1200, because that is already very low cal. diet, your body will think it is starving, plus, you may not be getting enough vitamins...0

I do not have the facilities to make my own food due to the type of accommodation I live at in university. This means that when I track my food I have no real way of knowing if the calories are accurate a lot of the time,. This means that I usually try to eat 1000 instead of 1,200 to give myself some leeway in case I have been undercalculating. I do not get hungry and I have been losing weight this way.0
