A TMI question for my ladies out there

I have seen a couple posts and I'm wondering how common weight gain during Ovulation is for every one out there? I have been working my tail off and watching my food for the last 3-4 weeks and I haven't lost a lb 2 out of those four weeks were of course mother nature and ovulation and was wondering if that could be a factor? I'm mainly confused because I usually drop this 10 lbs (I've been gaining and losing it for months now) fairly easy til I hit 180 then it becomes more difficult but recently it's stuck. And it seems even a 2-300 calorie oops in a day results in a half a lbs gain. Could too much protein be a factor as well? What do you think? TIA!

Could be. Try tracking your weight monthly rather than weekly.
I highly doubt too much protein is the problem, it tends to fill you up making over eating on calories less likely. But it could be water retention if you are eating 2-3000 calories of not too good food.0 -
I ALWAYS saw the scale go up 2-3LBS during ovulation.
A while back there was a thread about it. Lot's of women do see the scale go up then just like with ToM.0 -
Me too. Track your weight and your cycle and you can watch them correlate. I just say off the scale for two weeks, it's depressing!0

Thank you everyone! This makes me feel a little better except I destroyed my diet tonight0

One night cannot destroy a diet. Honestly. It can be a minor setback or an enjoyable break. Just get back up and keep on going0

I only weight myself once a month for this very reason. About five days after my period ends, I weight myself. If I do it more than that, the monthly fluctuations make me scratch my head.0

Yup! When I ovulate and at TOM. It drove me CRAZY for awhile until I realized the pattern (and still does sometimes). Now it is a pleasant surprise when I weigh and see I am up 3+ lbs, see the calendar, and realize where I am in my cycle and THEN afterwards, see it drop down by 4 lbs or so. The scale jumps all over place. You just need to look for the overall trend.0
