Elliptical CC vs bodymedia

                    I use an elliptical at my gym that lets me enter weight and built in HRM. Usually it's counter tells me I burn about 300 calories in a 1/2hr. I just got a bodymedia to try out and told me I burned around 80 calories less.
I know most machines are *for lack of better words* winging it based on a general calculation especially since we all burn differently.
I'm really iffy on bodymedia if it actually works correctly and can actually measure what I'm really burning.
Which should I take as the reading?

            I've heard MFP overestimates the elliptical . Bumping to see if someone has an answer.0

            MFP way overestimates the elliptical. The machines overestimate a little bit. I bet your bodymedia fit is the better one to go with.0

            Both the machine and MFP overestimate elliptical calories burned.
This is why I love my BMF--much more accurate; no guessing on calories expended.0 - 
            You will find different machines will give you different numbers. I decided to go with a HRM and use it to gauge my activities. Its stingy but at least you know its more accurate.0
