When is a new person no longer new?
Just curious what people think about this. When is a newbie at the gym no longer a newbie? How long does it take?
I'm relatively new but I'm dedicated. I go 4 days a week and I don't miss a day. I work very hard at it. When I'm not working out, I'm researching and learning. I absorb a lot of info, even the contradictory stuff.
I think it might not be just the amount of time put in but also the effort and dedication. Your thoughts?

When you get on a "nodding good morning/afternoon/etc." basis with the other regular members. lol
Just remember to smile and nod at the other newbies so they become regulars too!0 -
This really depends. Just speaking of adaptations, then you could say you are no longer a newbie after maybe 4-6 weeks. I'm talking about resistance training here.
However, if you change your routine, you go from 5x5 to 5/3/1, then you maybe a newbie to the new routine and need to ask newbie-like questions about it.
But, you may always want to have the mindset of a newbie. This will allow you to continue to learn.0 -
