Food Replacement Shakes... Which one? Help =(

I know these aren't really the best thing to be having, but my problem is that I can NOT eat breakfast.
Any sort of breakfast at all; toast, cereal, anything makes me want to gag. Being a student I haven't got the time to wait around for my body to wake up enough to think "Hmm.. food sounds good now."

So this brings me to meal replacements as I am also a chocolate milkshake addict I thought I may actually even like them.
So please, anyone suggest me ANY meal replacement shake that;
1. Has an enjoyable taste.
2. Doesn't have more than 300 calories per serving/bottle
3. Doesn't cost a fortune

Please help, never tried these before ever.

I guess I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish. If you don't want to eat breakfast, then don't.

Any "meal replacement" shake is likely going to be higher cals, as it should be. Meals should have calories. If you want a protein shake, that can be done without the fats and carbs and thus be lower cal. In that case, I like Optimum Nutrition stuff.

None. All the gimmicky ones are crap. As the PP said, protein shakes are your best bet if you must, but they wont be 300 calories or less, and they shouldnt be. your body needs fuel.

The ones packaged and marketed as meal replacement shakes are generally crappy (though depending on your needs could be better than a handful of dry cereal or something). Protein shakes can very easily be well under 300 cals. Do-it-youself meal replacements are the best option.

    Just don't eat breakfast.
Eat later in the day when you're hungry. Still hit all of your macros in the same way.
  • Thanks for the advice guys.
May try optimum nutrition then. (=

It's not the fact I don't want to eat breakfast, I want some sort of breakfast but can't stomach food so close to getting up.
To be honest the only reason I want to eat breakfast is that I've heard ensuring you have something for breakfast kick starts your metabolism and therefore makes you lose weight.

Your metabolism doesn't shut down when you're not eating. Having breakfast to boost/rev up/whatever your metabolism is and older believe that has little real benefit to most people. Eat when you want, make sure your cals/macros are good and your energy levels allow you to do what you need to do.

As stated before, there's really no truth in any of that. Feel free to eat whenever you want. As long as you're eating a deficit, it doesn't matter whether or not you eat breakfast.
