That is so me. I'm doing Beachbody RevAbs right now. Then I plan on TurboFire or 90X (not p90X) but heck that lifting makes me think maybe Pump.

Its also Hard to stay motivated when so many say "you're fine" when you Know when you take off those pants you are Not!

oh i couldn't of said it better.... i got the " don't disappear on us" bit, even though i'm not too tiny, i'm around 120-122 and 5.2 ft. I agree with you 100% that in clothes it's a different story, we see how untoned we are what we need to fix yet... i also am now thinking pump may be my answer after i finish slim in 6...

Kickboxing classes played a major role in turning me from "skinny fat" to "slim and toned, with a firm butt & legs!" The classes were 1hr, the first half being high cardio (Laps, burpees, fast push-ups, sit-ups, variations of those moves, etc), as well as walking lunges and squats. The 2nd half would be punching combinations you do as a partner holds up targets for you. You would punch/kick constantly for 3mins straight, switch with your partner, then repeat another 2 times with new combos. It made a huge difference for me! Cardio, running ability and with my strength/muscles! :) My waist started to go inwards, I saw muscles appearing where flab used to be and my legs no longer looked like tooth picks!
  • Look at LorinaLynn's blog/profile/pics. She has documented the difference so well! She was one of the people that motivate me to make the change...

I am only 2 months in with heavy lifting but you can already tell a HUGE difference:

^ This was just me, pretty pear shaped.. Was very active (running, etc) but was not eating enough and had only yoga for "resistance training"

^ This was 30 days into strength training. I had to start with very very light weight - I knew I was weak but *I* didn't even realize just HOW weak I was...

^ And this was just taken the other day. I'm about 2 months into lifting. I feel amazing, I'm eating more than I ever have before, I'm STRONG and I don't sweat it if I have an off day like I used to. I'll know I'll be be okay. I'm happy.

I highly recommend ready a book on it - I got NROL4W and it's just good to read things I had been hearing.. Put some perspective into things for me.

Good luck! And feel free to ask if you have questions!

This is amazing!! I am currently 'skinny fat' and cannot get out of it! :( What strength training did you do to achieve this, was there a certain routine or weights etc?

Just a little note. When people say they do 3x10, the final rep or two (rep 29 or 30) should be tough. If you've done your 3x10 and thinking, "Well, that was easy - I could do another 500" then it's too light and you've wasted your time. So lift heavy-*kitten* weights. And you'll be surprised what you can lift. You can pick up a suitcase, right? That face you get when you pick up your suitcase is the face you should get when you're lifting.
