Hello, I am new here... I have been on this site before, but it was a couple of years ago, and then signed up again recently but never logged my food.
So I'm 31, a grad student and have reached 330lbs. My heaviest ever was last summer at 335 pounds, so I am close to where I was. I moved to Vancouver for school almost a year ago, and am actually surprised that i didn't gain more weight because that has been the pattern for every year I've been in school.
I know what my issues are: compulsive over eater, food addict, sore joints and muscles, depression and anxiety, but I am not going to use those as excuse, more of an explanation. I am the cause for this, and I am fully aware of that.
I am also a practicing Buddhist, which by its nature, is pretty much contradictory to the way i have been leading my life in terms of food. If the purpose of life is to make it through the suffering and alleviate it as much as possible, I have not, as yet accomplished that.
So my plan is to watch what I eat, get more active and get in touch with my self and my spirituality. I have no outlined goals, per se... I just know I cannot live like this anymore. I'm unhappy, hugely fat and the simple things in life are now becoming a chore (tying shoes, walking to the store, sleeping, walking up stairs... et cetera)
So here it goes. Here's to a healthier, happier life and loving who I am.

Hello and welcome from a fellow food addict. You have found a great place, there's loads of support if you want it and logging your food is a great motivational tool. This site makes it much easier than writing it all down.
You sound very inspiring and have a good perspective on life, good luck, "WE CAN DO IT!!0 -
Hello! I am also new here. Congratulations for taking this step! Find the strength in yourself to take hold of your life, don't let your mind tell you that you can't do this.
