I didn't really notice until I went to go buy a new outfit. There were times were I had to waer a belt, but the weight loss was so gradual I didn't just wake up and go "Well that is just not going to do."
Congrats on the weight loss.0 -
Well, it all depends on what you are losing. If you're losing actual fat and losing inches you'll see a difference. If you're losing just water weight and lean muscle mass, you might need a bit before you see it in the inches. So up that strength training and really focus on building muscle!
Good luck to you!

My old jeans are getting baggy, but the other pair I got too fat for are still too small. However I did buy a shirt at Walmart that was a 12/14 and it fits great! I think it depends on where you lose weight first. My back, arms, and face get smaller before my hips, butt and thighs do.0

i also think the difference inches-wise between larger sizes and smaller sizes is dramatic. it's a couple inches between large sizes, and an inch between smaller sizes (like a 6-8 is only an inch, whereas a 16-18 is often a few inches), which means you may have to lose more weight to leave that first pair of pants because it can be quite a few inches to the next size down.
20 lbs is great! congrats. keep at it and you will slowly notice a difference as that belt keeps tightening. i know that i lose faster around my waist than my thighs so i have to tighten my belt before my tree-trunk legs are ready to go down a size too.0 -
I just realized I had that problem this week when I was constantly pulling up my jeans and my work pants required a belt and don't look very attractive. I've lost 15 pounds since Feb. and 25-30 lbs overall since last August. My jeans are all definitely too big at a size 16. My work pants are fitting ok for some pairs, but my dark brown ones are pretty bad. I'm also pretty petite to begin with, so at only 5'3" (on a good day), that 15 pounds makes a pretty big difference.
And I agree with the sizes. I was comparing my measurements to a sizing chart for US women's sizes and it is a really big jump from a size 16 to 14. Once you're below that, the gap closes and you'll see a different with less weight loss.0 -
it can feel very rewarding to start seeing clothes fit poorly. but it will take a while. :flowerforyou: have patience. (a good investment is a webbed belt- no holes, so it can stretch & be used at any length) i actually bought mine in the men's department, they didn't have any for women. Just this week i walked out of the bedroom, said good morning and my pajama bottoms fell to my ankles.
i have lost weight faster in my face, neck, wrists, ankles, chest . but i have lost weight everywhere (even my shoulders). wish i could direct where the loss happens (don't we all).
i am still losing so i've tried to go to a local thrift store to get some transition clothes, but i've already lost beyond some of the transition stuff i've purchased.
i was telling someone this week. i feel like the 4 year old who is running around playing dress up in all mommy's big clothes (even my shoes are too big!!!!) it will be a while before i can say done, then hopefully some wonderful new clothes can fill my closet.0
