NSV...small but meaningful

I had my first NSV yesterday. It was my "date" night with my daughter (I have three children, one of whom is special-needs) and I took her to McDonald's for a happy meal.

I did not take ONE french fry, not ONE bite of her hamburger and not ONE drink of her Sprite.

I know it's a small victory...but it was truly hard for me to overcome that obstacle. I love McDonald's.

Anyways...anyone else care to share their NSV?

Thank you for reading!

    that is great!
  • Way to go! I also love the idea of "date night" with your kids...very cute! :)
  • Great job! At work this week I turned down some chocolates (twice) and some birthday cake:) The lady I sit next to said "just have a piece of chocolate" and I said no, I can't, it's not in the eating plan.

Thanks, all! It was a hard NSV for me...I love McDonald's!

I have lots of food pushers in my life, too. My favorite is: "one won't hurt you!" My response is always: "I can't have just one...but thank you, anyways!"

Just feeling the power of "no, I don't really want that" is awesome!! Good for you! :flowerforyou:

I had a small NSV today......woke up late, ready to walk everyone to school despite being late.... Grabbed desperately in the ubiquitous laundry pile for SOMETHING to wear....and threw on a stretchy dayglo shirt I bought as motivation, but that didn't really fit yet. But it DID!!!!!!!!!!!! Won't expect miracles EVERY day..........but very thankful for THAT one.

well done to you - I know how hard that is - when you see the food, can smell it, watch their faces as they eat it - but to not give in to it makes me feel so much stronger - congrats - keep up the good work.
