Watching Dr. Oz support a weight loss supplement called Garcinia Cambogia. Has anyone tried this supplement?, and if so, is it worth the cost? 24.99/ 120 capsules.

  • Well that was FAST!
    Got this sent to me:
    Here are Dr. Oz's criteria:
It must contain Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) and be on the label.
It must have no fillers, binders or any other extra ingredients.
It must be 100% pure and in a vegetarian capsule.
And you need to take at least 1600mg a day (800mg capsules, 2 times a day).

So, check the label to make sure it meets all of these criteria. If it doesn't, don't buy it!

So that's the name of the latest Dr. Oz inspired supplement that will do nothing for people, but make a dent in their wallets?
  • Also, It's important to note that it was in fact Super Citrimax Garcinia Cambogia with 60% HCA that was used in the study.

Dr. Oz is well known for recommending any supplement who will pay him. His advice is therefore unreliable.

The good news is, you've found MFP, and you don't need any special supplements of any kind to enjoy fantastic success!

Leave the pills and potions alone. Log your food and hit your calories. That's all you have to do.

Hi, daborn526. I lost 70 pounds last year by doing three very simple things:

    1) I stopped watching Dr. Oz
    2) I exercised consistently
    3) I changed my eating habits

Now, I didn't say they were easy things to do, just simple. Best of luck.

I'd say I think Dr. Oz and Dr. Mario got their diplomas from the same school, but that would be insulting to Dr. Mario...

If you watched him last Friday, it was a different supplement.
And if you watched him last Thursday, it was another different supplement.
And if you watched him last Wednesday, it was a totally different supplement.

Do you see where I'm going here?

Just say no to Dr. Oz.

And take a look at his #1 client and good friend - Oprah. If any of these bogus supplements he endorses actually worked, she'd look like a fitness model....but that's definitely not the case.
  • Good to know...I wanted to actually find someone who had given it a shot with healthy eating and life style to see if it made a difference...I appreciate it!

If Dr. Oz supports it, don't buy it. He is on TV for one purpose, nowadays. To sell you crap and take your money.
  • Thank you for the website...really put into perspective! GREAT wieght loss, KEEP UP the GREAT job!
  • he does not endorse any brand and he specifically tells you when he shows you something he finds to be working that. He also says if you see anything advertise that says he told you to buy it it's false. He does not endorse the brands and that is why he tells you what needs to be on the labels.
