    Why NOT bother?
  • Maybe you should try measuring yourself as you progress and take pics so you can have that to compare to. I've been taking pics of myself along the way and it kind of keeps me motivated.

Try not to let it get to you! I still have that feeling, but I know I'm better off. Surprise reflections deflate my mood too though. And you bother for yourself and for those who depend on you. Keep going, it's worth it!

Have you ever seen an actual cow? Because you look nothing like one.
  • I understand the feeling. Why bother? Because if you give up, you'll likely just get bigger and then how will you feel? You're on a roll, keep it up - it's a slow process, the weight did not go on overnight and it will not come off overnight. If you don't do anything about it, it's not going to come off on its own. Don't give up!!

But... if you quit, you'll continue to... errr, "look like a cow."

However, if you continue doing as you are... you'll eventually not... supposedly look like a cow. (You don't look like a cow, at all, by the way...)

Don't let what you look like today ruin what you'll look like tomorrow. You can't let the present influence you so much because if you do you'll never be where you want to be. Continue today,. and in a few months time you'll look back on this day and be thankful you didn't let that dastardly reflection derail you.

I totally get how you're feeling. I've had that same type of day today. Just stick with it, we'll get through this. It may seem like there isn't any reason, but we didn't put the weight on over night and it's not going to just disappear as soon as we jump on the bandwagon. I have a list of encouraging quotes that I like to look at throughout the day, which helps sometimes.

Feel free to add me, if you want. I'll try to be supportive and helpful in any way I can!

progress pics are great...sometimes when we see ourselves day to day we can't see the changes...then you look at progress pics and see.

Never look at your reflection in a window! Windows are like funhouse mirrors, they are not perfectly flat, and always make reflections look distorted and wonky.

Exactly. I still look at myself and think "wow I'm fat as *kitten* and I hate myself" most of the time but if I just gave up I'd get even fatter. If I stay on track and keep going to the gym every day and continue to be very careful about my food choices I'll be less fat.
