Hey, after reading so many great quotes on peeps profiles I thought this might be a fun game and inspire people at the same time. ![ ](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'm gonna start with a silly one.
'The first thing you lose on a diet is brain mass.' Margaret Cho.
This is in reference to unhealthy, unsustainable diets and I always think about it when I'm beginning to obsess about food.
Who's next?

Ok, I'll bite!
How about a bit of Churchill? He's always good for a quote or two:
"If you are going to go through hell, keep going."
and
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
- W. Churchill
Be wrong not to chuck a bit of Gandhi in there too:
"Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will."
- M. Gandhi0 -

You'll lose weight from any strict diet. But it's water weight...from crying.0

I like the one from my profile: Bessie Braddock: “Sir, you are drunk.” Churchill: “Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober.”0
-
"Don't count the days, make the days count." Muhammed Ali
That one means a lot to me.0 -
I have a few but the first one I have no idea who said it (i pinched it from the forums a few days ago)
"The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullsh** story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it "
and
“Sometimes people will hear you and be able to change their behavior, but often their behavior has more to do with their own need for approval than with your need for support. No matter what their response, you need to be firm and hold your ground. At the end of the day, your health is your responsibility.”
“Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks. We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects. One setback is one setback—it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.”
"when your friends tell you that you look awesome, drop the "I still have a few lbs to loose" cr*p. You've worked hard for what you have right now and deserve the compliment."0 -

"When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks the fault lies in yourself." -Tecumseh
"While I don't believe that maps show you where you will go in your life, they do show you where you might go." -John Green0 -
I didn't really like the movie A League Of Their Own, but this quote resonated with me. It's at the part where one of the star players is planning to quit because it got too hard.
This always seems to come to mind for me when doing a really tough workout or achieving another difficult goal:
"Of course it's hard. It's supposed to be hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it. It's the hard the makes it great."0 -
