For me the easiest way to get started on going to the gym is having a gym buddy. Try and find a friend or family member who wants to get in shape and will go with you. If you don't know how to use the gym equipment, have one of the personal trainers at the gym teach you how to use the machines. Once you get the hang of the machines, it's easy and fun!
Also, if you go to a larger gym they may have a room for babies and children to play in. That may make it more convenient.
Good luck!0 -
I have trouble staying motivated also, but i have learned that on days I just don't want to those are the days I need to make myself even if it is only 15 or 30 minutes. After I am done it seems my mood is better because I feel I accomplished something. If you have a stationary bike you can ride it while watching tv time goes by really fast and I'm done.0

I am the BIGGEST procrastinator when it comes to working out (or anything I don't want to do for that matter LOL). I am 26 and I have never been into "fitness" and that is probably why I am 60lbs overweight . I finally found something that is convenient (I have 3 kids under 3) and something that I actually like doing (which is crazy for me because I DO NOT like exercise). I do workout DVDS at home while my kids nap or even sometimes when they are awake they like to "play exercise" with mommy. Right now I am doing Turbo Jam (I have 5 or 6 different ones) and I plan to do Turbo Fire when I get bored with these. I have also heard that Zumba is really fun. I do anywhere from 20-50 minutes and I swear they fly by because it's so fun. I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks and I'm not feeling like I want to quit or anything. I love MFP and Chalene Johnson!!!! You should give it a try.0

do you have the option to workout at home also? sometime i would have a hard time getting motivated to go to the gym, so I started doing a 30 minute workout video in the morning at home. That way if i had time/wanted to I could hit the gym after work, otherwise worse case, I already got in a quick workout at the house before i started my day. (also helped get me up in the morning! definitely not a morning person)0

I pretty much get that feeling of not wanting to exercise all the time. But as soon as I get on the Treadmill - the hour goes by soooo fast. I do interval training - so I'm only looking as far as 2 min. at a time. The first ten minutes is warm up and the last ten minutes cool down, so , maybe that's why it goes so fast......?
Get going Girl! You can do it and you'll feel SO GOOD afterward!0 -
